Pointless~Day Two

June 2, 2008

I had woken up early this morning. I knew what I had to do as soon as everyone else had awaken. It was the same when we went anywhere. Two more hours of broken sleep I had to be the first one to get up and get ready.  I waited for my sister to finish getting ready then the both of us went to the breakfast area. The both of us brought back some plates of food for our parents then helped ourselves to it.

After we ate, we had to start packing up the van again. It wasn’t much of a chore considering there wasn’t much. I had carefully packed everything in my backpack so it all fit without damaging anything either. I started my duty of taking out the luggage, but while I was doing so I was singing under my breath “A Praise Chorus” by Jimmy Eats World. The part I knew from hearing Alexiel sing.

My parents told Komi and I to wait in the lobby for them. So I had taken the book, Twilight, and started to read it again. A little while later my parents had come down then we got up and went to the van. We drove around until we found Vanderbilt University. We just drove on the outskirts of the campus and the hospital. I saw more of the city and more of the diversity I longed for at home. We randomly drove around the city until my parents had decided to stop at this plaza. We went into the Books-a-Million and I had taken advantage of it and went to the manga section. I had one in mind that I wanted to read. MegaTokyo… I picked up the first one and settled down in a chair then began reading it.  I became so absorbed in it that I had forgotten where I was. I was disppointed when I had to leave it.

We had eaten lunch then started to make are way home. I was so glad… yet I wasn’t. I would have to return to the life I had at home. I know for certain I would feel the same when I go to see Alexiel. The diversity I had come to know and love I would not see again for quite sometime until December hopefully. I had thought of why we went on this trip when we didn’t even do what we came there to do. We didn’t take a tour of the Vanderbilt hospital or the university’s campus. To me it seemed… pointless.
